Umuzi is a Johannesburg based organisation that works with top employers to support young people to access high-value tech and creative careers.
Young people can discover high-value tech and creative careers through our community content platform, Ez’Ntswembu. Anyone interested can start learning immediately through our online learning application process. The most successful candidates from our online learning are interviewed and assessed in-person.
If selected, these young people enter our full-time, paid, on-the-job training programme where they learn human-centered design, Agile, and specialise in a scarce tech and creative skill, including:
- Data Science & Data Engineering
- Web Development
- UX Strategy
- UI Design and Copywriting
- Multimedia
Included in the programme is 3 months of work experience at a leading employer. We continue to support our alumni to reach their full potential through Umuzi Plug, our talent recruitment offering.

2. Apply
Having decided on which Career Track you want to pursue, start your journey to a high-value career by applying today. We assess your skills through real work. If we believe you’ve got what it takes, we’ll invite you to our Bootcamp. We take applicants from all over South Africa. If you’re successful in your application, we’ll help you to get to our studios in Jo’burg.
What if I’m not in Jo’burg?
We know there are talented young people all over South Africa, so if you’re successful in your application, we’ll offer you housing, close to our studio.
